THE PROBLEM
Currently, there is not a system that allows job seekers to connect their Google Suite documents and information to an application for calendar use and Google Drive sharing. We will build a product that does this in addition to serving as a single place to save and manage job postings from multiple platforms.
This product will fill a gap in the job tracking space because this is particularly helpful during the COVID-19 pandemic as anyone collecting unemployment insurance needs to submit reports of job search history, which can be challenging to save and keep organized when multiple platforms are involved.
MY ROLE
I was the team lead and designer on this project. I created all the front end design and branding. I lead the design sprint, preliminary research, and organized all team meetings and took notes.
TOOLS
Adobe XD, Miro, Trello, InDesign, Illustrator
OVERVIEW
Papertrail was developed in my interdisciplinary studio course where I worked alongside computer science students completing their capstone projects. The three developers choose to work with a designer (me!) who would design the front end of the app and its branding. We completed a design sprint together and then got to work.
Papertrail is an application that will act as a browser for users to search for jobs, save the listings, and apply to them with documents stored in their Google Drive. Users may add calendar events through the application which will then be logged into their Google Calendar for notifications. They can enter the address of an interview and open it in Google Maps from Papertrail.
